Harry Potter book party

4.2 on the Richter scale

Shaken awake this morning at 4:43 AM by a minor earthquake. Biggest one I've ever felt. Fortunately we sustained relatively minor damage at Euclid Manor (knock on wood). Thanks in large part to the Buddha idol on our mantel (see picture). This little man managed to hold up a fifty pound mirror and was precariously balanced halfway of the mantel! And all this was just a prelude to the release of the seventh (and perhaps final) in the series of Harry Potter books. We attended the midnight celeration at the Oakland Public Library with a hundred other fans and their proud parents. ’Twas a signal day Jed.

Work, Work, Work

Working on designs for the start up web project today ... heard back from Media Temple (mt), still some unanswered questions. At home, Belle started another Roald Dahl book today - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Now I know why Dahl is so well-known.

Manic Monday

Back to the mania of summer school, home improvement and starting up a business. Managed to get time to play with Claudia's new Leica as well as the iPhone. All this imaging could hardly be classified as work as we both enjoy it emensely. Gabriel has discovered the video capabilities of his own digital camera and will be making his own iMovies this month (stay tuned, as he was just brain-storming his next comedy project)

Sunday Brunch

Gathered with the Gulassa’s sunday at Strada for much skating, smiling and sharing. News about families, gadgets, culture and industy happenings north and south. Beautiful east bay summer day. Good to see Cyril and Harriet as well as Eric Gerbich and his family. And great to see Brian and Jennifer and watch Max, Maya, Rocky, Gabriel, Isabel, Isaak and the Gerbich kids flying around the campus.

Batflix

Sent Jed off to the airport. Went to sleep. Then went to Batflix and saw Confetti. A nice piece of British filmaking about a wedding magazine in London. Made plans for weekend @ Treasure Island.

Friday the Thirteenth

Breakfast @ 817 in Oaktown with cousin Chris, then on to farmers market in Chinatown. Later a bit of work, then to the city for Thai food.
